Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs paid subscriptions to Soundcheck, operated by PMF Consulting at https://runsoundcheck.com. By subscribing to the paid tier, you agree to the terms below in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Pricing
Soundcheck's paid tier costs $9.99 USD per month, billed in advance through Razorpay. Each billing period gives you up to 25 briefs.
You will be charged $9.99 USD by your card issuer at the start of each billing period. Payment settles to PMF Consulting in INR via Razorpay International at the prevailing exchange rate. Your bank's foreign transaction fee, if any, is not refundable by us.
2. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first month's subscription only. If you are not satisfied with the Service, email hello@runsoundcheck.com within 7 days of your initial payment with the subject line "Refund Request," and we will refund the full $9.99 USD charge to the original payment method.
To qualify:
- The refund must be requested within 7 calendar days of your first paid subscription charge.
- Refund requests must be sent from the email address associated with the account.
- The 7-day guarantee applies only to the very first month of your first paid subscription. Returning subscribers, re-subscriptions after cancellation, and subsequent billing periods are not eligible.
After the 7-day window has passed, the subscription fee is non-refundable.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- From your account dashboard at https://runsoundcheck.com/me, or
- By emailing hello@runsoundcheck.com from the email address associated with your account.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to paid features (25-brief monthly cap) until that date. You will not be charged again unless you re-subscribe.
We do not pro-rate refunds for cancellations made after the 7-day guarantee window. If you cancel on day 10 of a 30-day billing period, you keep access for the remaining 20 days; you do not receive 20 days of money back.
4. What is Not Refundable
The following are not refundable under any circumstance:
- Subscription fees outside the 7-day money-back window.
- Foreign transaction fees, currency conversion charges, or processing fees imposed by your card issuer or bank.
- Partial months following cancellation.
- Subscriptions to a re-activated account where the original subscription was previously refunded under the 7-day guarantee.
- Brief generations themselves (the underlying AI API costs are incurred at the time of generation and cannot be reversed).
5. Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails (insufficient funds, expired card, bank decline), we will attempt the charge up to three times over a 7-day period before marking the subscription as inactive. During this period, your access continues normally. If all attempts fail, your subscription will be moved to the free tier (3 briefs per email account) until you update your payment method.
We will email you when a payment fails so you can update your payment method.
6. Failed Transactions
If your card is charged but the subscription does not activate (very rare), contact us immediately at hello@runsoundcheck.com. We will work with Razorpay to resolve the issue. In most cases, failed transactions are automatically reversed by your bank within 5 to 7 business days; if not, contact us.
7. How Refunds Are Processed
Approved refunds are initiated within 2 business days of approval. The refund is processed back to the original payment method through Razorpay. The time for funds to appear in your account depends on your card issuer:
- Domestic Indian cards: typically 5 to 7 business days
- International cards: typically 7 to 14 business days
We do not control the speed of refund processing on the card issuer's side.
8. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at hello@runsoundcheck.com before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. We will respond within 24 hours and work to resolve any legitimate issue.
Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension and forfeiture of the 7-day money-back guarantee on future subscriptions.
9. Subscription Changes by Us
If we change the price of the paid tier, you will receive at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price will take effect on your next billing period. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel without penalty.
If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will refund any unused portion of pre-paid subscriptions on a pro-rated basis. You will be notified at least 30 days in advance of discontinuation.
